Yes, there is a waiting period of 6 months. Once this has passed, death due to natural causes will be covered. There is no waiting period for accidental death. 

If the policy lapses and is then re-instated, the waiting period starts from zero (from the reinstatement date), unless the policy is reinstated within 3 months from the date of lapse - in this instance the waiting period will not start from zero.
